AWAL has purchased the necessary instrumentation to implement a new organic preparation technique (Method 3546 -Microwave Extraction). This method employs microwave extraction of organic compounds in solid/soil matrices. This method is significantly faster than method 3545 (Pressurized Fluid Extraction) and will allow us to provide even faster turnaround times without compromising quality. The methods applicable to this change will be:
- Pesticides by method 8081B
- PCBs by method 8082A
- TPH-DRO by method 8015D
- Semi-volatile organics (SVOAs) by method 8270D
AWAL also purchased a new Agilent 7890A GG/Dual FID with dual 7693A autosamplers. This will significantly increase our capacity for 8015D-DRO and 8015D-ORO analyses.
